The Historical Iowa Civil Rights Network (HICRN) was established in 2013 and brings together historians, archivists, former civil rights workers, and supporters from across Iowa, documenting the experiences of advocates for equality. HICRN's mission focuses on the collection, preservation, and sharing of stories of Iowans who served in the Civil Rights Movement at home, in the South, and elsewhere. HICRN is a participant in the Civil Rights History Project of the American Folklife Center, Library of Congress.

This website is a work in progress. Please anticipate more content on Iowa's Civil Rights experience in Summer 2015!
