What is the University of Iowa History Corps?

History Corps started as the "University of Iowa Humanities Story Corps" in the Spring of 2011, and originally focused on showcasing faculty research and public engagement at Iowa. In 2013, we renamed the project and began thinking about History Corps as a conduit for oral, digital, and public history projects of all kinds. Our goal is to make this site a place for students, teachers, and community members to learn new ways of doing history, thinking about the broader implications of scholarly work, and engaging one another in fruitful, long-lasting partnerships. In essence, History Corps is a platform from which the University of Iowa History Department can share our work and spark historical interest among the local, state, regional, and even global communities around us.

Feel free to contact us at history-corps@uiowa.edu to talk about your project and how History Corps can help get you on the web as soon as possible!
